We often overlook the importance of how we refer to items and categories within our organizational structure. This language is just as vital to our brand as the visuals we present.
Unstructured visuals can confuse customers, patients, and students. Inconsistent wording and labeling can be even more detrimental and may even drive them away.
To address this issue, I designed and co-authored the Visual Guide to Element Naming & Taxonomy. This guide aims to help WGU course creators produce consistent content and navigation language. I purposely made it visual and included numerous examples to eliminate confusion among course builders.
